About Me

I'm Binal Gohel, a pediatric occupational therapist with over 5 years of experience helping children aged 0–18 build the skills they need for everyday life. I'm both CORU-registered (Ireland) and AIOTA-registered (India), currently based in Dublin, Ireland.
I hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Govt. Occupational Therapy College, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat — where I graduated as Gujarat University Gold Medalist with First Class Honours. I also hold a Master's degree in Pediatric Occupational Therapy.
Over my career, I've worked with 400+ children across early intervention centres, child development centres, schools, and disability services in both Ireland and India. I've also taught as an OT lecturer, mentoring the next generation of therapists.
My approach blends family-centred care, neurodiversity-affirming intervention, sensory integration, and play-based learning — partnering with parents and teachers to support each child meaningfully.

How I Work
From first conversation to ongoing support, here's what working together looks like.
We start with a friendly conversation to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and your family’s goals — helping us decide if therapy is the right next step.
Using standardised tools and parent-led observations, I assess your child across sensory, motor, self-care, and participation areas to build a clear picture of their needs.
Together we set meaningful goals and follow a tailored intervention plan with regular reviews — supported by home and school strategies for lasting impact.

Binal has been incredible with our son. After just a few months of therapy, his fine motor skills improved dramatically and he became more confident at school. She truly understands children and makes every session feel like play.

FAQ
Have questions about occupational therapy for your child? Here are answers to the most common ones.
Pediatric occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need for everyday activities — from getting dressed and eating to writing, playing, and socializing. An occupational therapist works with your child to strengthen fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, self-regulation, and independence, using play-based and evidence-based approaches.
Your child may benefit from OT if they struggle with tasks like holding a pencil, tying shoelaces, focusing in class, tolerating certain textures or sounds, interacting with peers, or managing emotions. If you notice developmental delays or your child has a diagnosis such as ASD, ADHD, or a genetic condition, a professional evaluation can help determine if OT will be beneficial.
Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes and involve a combination of structured activities and play. Depending on your child’s goals, we might work on fine motor activities (puzzles, beading, drawing), sensory regulation exercises, gross motor challenges (obstacle courses, balance activities), or functional tasks like dressing practice. Every session is tailored to your child’s unique needs and interests.
While I don’t conduct in-person school visits, I work closely with teachers and school staff through online consultations. I can join virtual meetings to observe your child during classroom or play activities, and based on what I see, provide teachers with practical strategies and activity-level guidance to support your child’s learning and participation in the classroom.
I work with children from birth through 18 years of age. This includes early intervention for infants and toddlers, preschool readiness programs, school-age support, and adolescent skill-building for independence and transition to adulthood.
Every child is different. Some children show noticeable improvements within a few weeks, while others may need several months of consistent therapy. During the initial evaluation, I’ll create a personalized plan with clear goals and milestones so you can track your child’s progress. Regular reassessments ensure the therapy stays on track.
I provide parents with a home program that includes specific activities and strategies tailored to your child’s therapy goals. These are designed to be simple, practical, and easy to integrate into your daily routine. Parent education and coaching is an important part of my approach.
